:: cherry blossoms in Washington DC ::

Here are some favorite shots from our Washington DC trip this past March.  It was my first time going to DC and I loved it!  The cherry blossom festival just made the trip so much better!  The cherry blossoms were actually a gift in 1912 from the Mayor of Tokyo, Japan.

The buildings in Washington DC are all intricate as seen here in the Corcoran Gallery of Art Building.

Tomb of the Unknowns

It is considered one of the highest honors to serve as a tomb guard.  The changing of the guards was very precise.  The tomb guards changed every 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the time of year.  The guards are there 24/7, rain or shine.
