FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


What is your pricing?
We’d be happy to send you more information about our pricing!  Please fill out this form HERE and don’t forget to share your wedding date as well so we can double check our availability.  Our pricing for Misha Media starts at $3.9k and our pricing for Misha Media Photographers starts at $2k.

Do you work with a second photographer?
YES!  Most of our collections have 2 photographers.  We truly believe that documenting your wedding with 2 photographers is key with multiple points of view, angles, and having 2 photographers will tell your story better.  

Do you edit all your photographs?
We will cull down the images we photograph at your wedding (take out the blurry, blinks, and not-so-flattering facial expressions) and edit (color and exposure correct) the remaining images.  For a typical 10 hour wedding, we deliver approximately 800 to 1200 unique images, sometimes more!  Phew!  Now that’s a lot of images! :) 

Where are you based and do you travel?
Our stdio is based out of Inverness, Illinois (approximately 8 minutes from Woodfield Mall).  We’re also able to meet downtown as well for your convenience.  We are available for domestic and international travel.  Passports are always ready!

Will you help me with my timeline?
Absolutely!  We truly believe that timeline planning is a HUGE part of a successful wedding!  We promise to be there for you during the whole planning process.  For pretty much all of our couples, this is their first time doing all of this, so leave it up to us!  We’ve learned a thing or two the past 600 weddings we’ve been a part of :) 

Do you provide video services?
YES!  The art of videography is so different than the art of photography, so definitely check out our video work here:  www.mishamediafilms.com .  We think they’re pretty solid (wink wink).

Do you have passed clients we can talk to as references?
Absolutely!  Please let us know and we’d be happy to share their email address.

Can our photos be turned black and white?
YES!  Just let us know which images you’d like us to turn to black and white and we’d be happy to do it for you! 

Do you shoot natural/available light or with artificial light or both?
BOTH!  Our whole team is very comfortable shooting in whatever light it takes to produce the best photograph.  

How will we receive our photos?
We will deliver your high resolution jpeg images in a USB drive approximately 6 to 8 weeks after your wedding.  We will also be sharing your photos via a private photo gallery that we’ll email you after your wedding.  This photo gallery also becomes a “cloud” and you may download your photos directly from this link approximately 12 weeks after your wedding.

How long before we receive our products?
You will receive your USB drive of photos approximately 6 to 8 weeks after your wedding.  Album delivery varies, depending on how quickly you get your top favorite images to us as well as how quickly you can provide feedback on your album layouts.  

Will I get high resolution images?
YES!  That would be mean if we didn’t provide high resolution jpeg images of YOUR wedding photos :) 

Do you backup our images?
YES!  We back it up, back it up again, and then back it up AGAIN!  These are your wedding photos for crying out loud :) 

Do you have backup equipment?
YES of course!  AKA: More “toys” for us.  #PhotographyNerds 

Are your files watermarked?
The high resolution jpeg images delivered to you are NOT watermarked.  That would be kind of mean too, if we did.  However, when viewed in your photo gallery, they will be watermarked, for both of our protection.  

How many pictures will I receive?
For a wedding, anywhere from 500 to 1200 (sometimes more) unique images.  Our typical service hours is around 10 hours and we typically deliver between 800 to 1200 unique images.

Do we get the copyright of the photos?
You will receive personal copyrights to the images where you will be able to print your own images at your favorite lab.  We still reserve the copyright images for marketing purposes.  If your vendor wants a few images from your wedding, please refer them to us and we’ll take care of them! 

What if we want to order prints?
You may order prints via your photo gallery.  Your friends and family can also order via this link!

How does the album design work?
After your wedding, we will email you information on how to go about choosing your favorite images for your album.  Based on YOUR top favorite images, we will custom design your album and tell your story.

What is the online gallery that you mention?
Your online gallery consists of images from your wedding in a photo gallery, custom link, password protected.  Your photo gallery is subcategorized to each part of your day from preparation to reception, so it’s easy to view each part of your wedding day.

Do you offer engagement sessions?
YES!  We would LOVE to photograph your engagement session as well!  Engagement Sessions are fun because it’s a great way to take more photos (duh!), take photos in casual clothing (not just wedding attire), a great way to take advantage of a favorite location that we won’t be able to photograph at on your wedding day, and also a great way to get to know you guys better before your wedding and for you to get to know your photographers better as well!  Definitely tons of benefits!

How would you describe your style?
3 words: SIMPLE, SASSY, SOPHISTICATED.  

Do you take posed family photos?
Absolutely!  While we don’t show these very important formal family photos, we definitely photograph them!  

Do you take table shots?
Yes, when requested.  The time to photograph table photos is immediately after blessing (if any), before any speeches.  This is when your tables will be most complete.  Doing it anytime thereafter, we may encounter the following issues: 1. We cannot guarantee the completeness of your table.  2. We also may potentially miss other important events during your reception ie. special dances.  3. We may potentially disrupt the reception timeline flow as well by asking people to stand up to take their table photos.


BUSINESS

Do you have insurance?
YES!  We have liability insurance just in case, because you never know!

What kind of equipment do you use?
Professional Nikon and Canon cameras and lenses.

Can you provide my venue with a certificate of insurance?
Absolutely!  Just let us know the verbiage required for the insurance and we’ll get it to you ASAP!

How many weddings have you photographed?
We’re proud and happy to say that we’ve been part of over 600 weddings!  That’s a lot of cake :) hehe

Can you hold the date?
We book on a first come, first serve, basis.  We do not hold the date, however, if we have met and you express interest in our services, we will put a soft hold on it because we understand how important this decision is and we want you to be happy with your choice.  We’ve also been booked on the spot as well since we are destination wedding photographers, so if you’re serious about acquiring our services, it’s best to solidify your date sooner than later.

What kind of payment plans do you have?
We can split the payments 50% / 50% OR 33% / 33% / balance.  The first payment is due upon signing your agreement.  The middle payment is halfway between booking date and wedding date.  The last payment is due 14 days before your wedding.  We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards.

What if you are sick on our wedding?
We would have to be really sick to miss your wedding.  But no worries, that’s why we have a team! 

When should we book you/how far in advance?
If you are happy with what you see, and want us to capture your wedding day, the sooner the better!  We book on a first come, first serve basis.  We’ve been booked as far out as 18 months in advance, average booking is about 9 to 14 months in advance, and shortest is 2 weeks. :) 

If you are running late, will you stay later?
We typically arrive 10-15 minutes before start time, but yes, if for some reason, we run late, we will make up the time later.

Do we need to feed you at our wedding?
It would be nice, but you don’t have to, but we do have to eat and if you do not feed us, we do ask that you let us know in advance so we can plan for it.  We’ll need 30 minutes away during reception when you eat, to get our food.

Can my family and friends take photos at the wedding?
Yes, absolutely!  We understand that it’s a very important day for everyone too!

What do you do when you're not shooting weddings?
Andy and I are very family oriented so we love spending time with our Misha and the rest of our families.  We’re very active in the triathlon / running community to keep fit.  Our team is also very family oriented so spending time with their families are important too.  You may also find some of our photographers / videographers running, cycling, doing arts and crafts, camping, and Pokemon-ing :) 

Will you be shooting our wedding or one of your associates?
It depends on who you choose to photograph your wedding! :)

How many weddings do you do a weekend?
We vary from 1 to 3 weddings per weekend.

What will you be wearing to our wedding?
Black slacks, black tops, comfortable black shoes.  Unless you want us to wear something else, please let us know.
