Chicago Cultural Center Weddings

The Chicago Cultural Center is located on Michigan Avenue in the Loop across from Millennium Park.  It is home to the worlds largest 38 feet Tiffany stained-glass dome in the Preston Bradley Hall and hosts 25 ornate Tiffany chandeliers.  It was originally a public library and has been converted to an event space for political affairs.  Renting the space average $8-$10,000 with various upgrades available.  Depending on the number of guests you have, they Preston Bradley Hall 320 seated person capacity, GAR Hall 220,  GAR Rotunda 80, and the Sidney R Yates Gallery 420.

DID YOU KNOW

Did you know that you can have your wedding ceremony at the Chicago Cultural Center for $10 cash!  Ceremonies are performed on one Saturday per month and occur only between 10:45 am – 11:15 am and is limited to 10 ceremonies per day.  Appointments must be made in person at the Marriage and Civil Union Court located on the lower level of 119 West Randolph Street. Couples must present a valid marriage or civil union license.  Take note that ppointments can only be made within 60 days of the ceremony date.  Cameras are permitted (YES!!!) and you are limited to 20 guests.  These dates book real quick so if you are interested and have your marriage or civil union license, make an appointment right away and take advantage :)

 

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

The Chicago Cultural Center is in a prime location, you can rent out the space to have your own private wedding ceremony and then walk across the street to have photos at the Bean or anywhere in Millennium Park.  As the time gets close to cocktail hour, make sure to take advantage of the beautiful architecture and ornate decor that the Center has to offer.  An couples photo in the Preston Bradley Hall with Tiffany glass ceiling is a must have.  Night shots are also amazing when lit correctly.
