Crystal Gardens Navy Pier Wedding

Navy Pier is 3,300 feet long and is located on the near north side of Chicago on Lake Michigan.  It is now a major tourist attraction in Chicago and house restaurants, shops, cruise tours, family attractions and event spaces.  It was opened in July 1916 and initially named the “Municipal Pier” and its purpose was a docking station for freights and cargo as well as an event space for expos and pageants.  Interestingly, in 1918, Navy Pier was used as a jail to house draft dodgers of World War I.  In 1941 it became a training center for the Navy for World War II.  In 1995 they started renovations to make the Pier what it is today.  In pop culture it was used in the movie “The Color of Money’ to represent Atlantic City.
